Under 15s Back to Winning Ways

Scarborough Ladies Under 15s got back to winning ways with a superb 3-0 win away at Bishopthorpe White Rose.

The visitors got off to the best possible start when Eden Sellers fed striker Emma Willis who slotted home after just 30 seconds. The lead was doubled 10 minutes later when another dangerous cross from Eden forced the defender to fire into her own goal, under pressure from Daisy Willis.

The lead was maintained thanks to fantastic defensive performances from Lydia Hanson, Poppy Simpson and Susannah Shaw, allowing wing backs Alex Metcalfe and Daisy Willis to bomb forward at every opportunity, and laying the foundation for a long overdue first clean sheet for keeper Erin Nicholson, who dealt with the rare threats to her goal when called upon and kicked very well throughout.

Emma Willis held the ball up well as the lone striker, bringing the midfield trio of Lauren Corner, Phoenix Sykes and Sellers into the attack, while Beth Metcalfe was awesome in a new holding midfield role, breaking up play and ensuring that Bishopthorpe were unable to build any sort of momentum.

A third goal midway through the second half from Lauren, after some neat passing, sealed an impressive win.

The game featured some of the best football played so far this season and the girls should be very proud of their performance.
